Planning background
Nursing work is an important part of health and family planning work, which plays an important role in promoting the construction of healthy China, deepening the reform of medical and health system, improving people's medical experience and promoting social harmony.
In the process of fully implementing the "China Nursing Career Development Plan (2011-2015)", my country's nurse team construction and nursing career development have achieved remarkable results. Great progress has been made in the construction of the nurse team. By the end of 2015, the total number of registered nurses in China had reached 3.241 million, an increase of 58% over 2010. The number of nurses per thousand population increased from 1.52 in 2010 to 2.36 in 2015. The national health care ratio increased from 1:0.85 in 2010 to 1:1.07 in 2015, and the problem of inverted health care ratio has been fundamentally reversed for a long time.
The educational background of nurses has been gradually improved, and the level of Junior College nursing has been continuously improved. Nurses with a college degree or above account for 62.5 per cent of the total and play an important role in daily nursing work and medical treatment of major emergencies. Nursing services continue to improve, access to public recognition. Continue to promote high-quality nursing services, nursing services reflect the "patient-centered" service concept, the majority of nursing workers to provide professional, standardized and humanized nursing services for the masses.
In accordance with the spirit of the National Health and Health Conference, the overall requirements for deepening the reform of the medical and health system, the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Plan for a Healthy China 2030 are formulated to further accelerate the development of nursing care and meet the growing health needs of the people.
Nursing work is an important part of health and family planning, which is closely related to the health interests and lives of the people. Guiding ideology and basic principles of nursing career development during the 13th Five-Year Plan period

Main tasks
(I) strengthen the construction of nurses.
