86th Anniversary of the September 18th Incident: Only by Not Forgetting Memory Can Justice be Defended

Today is the 86th anniversary of the September 18th Incident.

In Tiananmen Square, in front of the Monument to the People's Heroes, people stood and listened to the historical echoes engraved on the white marble; Shenyang, the "September 18th" History Museum, a newly declassified document, tells the legend of the Anti-Union fighters struggling to save the country; Beijing, Jinan, Shijiazhuang and other places, air defense alarms also sounded again as in previous years......

Memories have never faded, and history still echoes. These commemorative activities remind people that only by not forgetting the memory of history can we better defend justice.

It was a tragic and humiliating history of suffering, and it was also a tragic epic of awakening. On September 18, 1931, the Japanese militarists deliberately created and launched the war of aggression against China, which opened the prelude to the world anti fascist war. National humiliation, pain in the heart; fight, the same enemy. The sons and daughters of China, full of enthusiasm for "we are of one mind and braving the enemy's artillery fire," and "400 million people join hands" and "swear to the death not to be subjugation slaves," waged an arduous struggle against the Japanese invaders for 14 years, and finally won China's first complete victory against the invasion of foreign enemies in modern times.

These historical memories, we can never forget. Today, although the "September 18" is far away, all the compatriots who were killed during the Japanese imperialist invasion of China deserve our eternal mourning; all the heroes and martyrs who gave their lives and made contributions in the War of Resistance against Japan are worthy of our eternal memory; the Chinese people's indomitable struggle against aggression deserves our eternal memory. We do not forget to remember, not to perpetuate hatred, in order to remember history and defend justice, but also to alert people all over the world to avoid the recurrence of historical tragedies and better safeguard world peace.

"War originates in the minds of men, so it is in the minds of men that the defense of peace must be constructed." This sentence engraved on the stone tablet in front of the UNESCO headquarters building reminds people that to defend justice and prevent war, we must first completely eliminate the "ideological misfortune" that launched the war ". What is shocking, however, is that for some time in Japan, as the initiator of the war of aggression, some political organizations and politicians have repeatedly committed "amnesia" on historical issues: from the textbook incident to the issue of visits to the Yasukuni Shrine, from denying the Nanjing Massacre to covering up the crimes of comfort women, from advocating the undetermined war responsibility to denying the Tokyo trial ...... How can the right-wing forces in Japan not be alarmed at all these practices that deviate from international justice?

It is also worth noting that there are many people who commit similar "amnesia" in China. On August 5, two Chinese tourists took photos at the Nazi ceremony in front of the German parliament building; on August 7, four young people dressed in Japanese military uniforms made strange things in the four-line warehouse of the Anti Japanese War Memorial; on August 13, two men dressed in Japanese military uniforms showed at the Binyang high-speed railway station in Guangxi. How can such behavior not be painful?

The historian Popper once said: "Those countless personal lives that have been forgotten (in history), their sorrows, their sufferings and deaths, these are the real contents of human experience in the past dynasties..." Eighty-six years have passed, and the fall of the years has already covered the relics of the war, and the trend of development has cleaned up the pain of history little by little, but if you forget the history in the traffic and neon, it means that the traditional, cut off the civilization. Only by keeping the memory and not forgetting the history and not forgetting the pain, can the "previous event" of history truly become the "teacher of the future" and a progressive force defending justice.
Do not forget the memory, can not be separated from the carrier of history. The establishment of a national memorial day is a memory of history in the name of the country; various monuments and historical sites are memories standing on the earth. Whether it is veteran Jin Chunxie who built 77 monuments for the heroes of the Anti-Japanese War, or the villagers of Chaoguo Village in Ji 'an, Jiangxi Province, who spontaneously raised funds to build a monument to the martyrs, the actions of tens of millions of people in Qian Qian to spontaneously remember history are telling the world and reminding future generations that the Chinese people, who yearn for justice and are moving towards rejuvenation, cannot and will not forget those once painful memories.

"The strong men of Ande will take the Tianhe River, and the chief of the soldiers will not need to be washed." The "September 18th Incident" brought us a bloody enlightenment: a consolidated national defense is the shield of national survival; a strong army is the foundation of the country. The fate of the country and the nation is closely related to the strength of the army. To prevent historical tragedies from repeating themselves, we must build a people's army that obeys the party's command, can win battles, and has a good style of work. For the officers and men of the whole army, it is the best commemoration of the "September 18" to bear in mind the sacred duty, sharpen the golden horse and iron horse, grasp the training time, and try to win the game.
